Zig Zag are now recruiting for a skilled and experienced Sexual Assault Counselling and Support Worker for a 12-month Locum position within our Sexual Assault Program commencing 27 April 2026 to 7 May 2027. This position is for 64 hours / fortnight (negotiable) and is remunerated at a SCHCADS Award Level 5 with salary sacrifice available.

Position Details
The Sexual Assault Counselling and Support Worker (Locum) will work collaboratively to deliver high-quality, ethical, responsive, specialist sexual assault counselling and support services to young women, trans, and gender diverse survivors of sexual violence who are residing in the Brisbane South, Brisbane North Region or Brisbane Southwest regions. This position will be primarily located at our Camp Hill service site and ensure flexible service delivery including counselling, planned support and support coordination, practical support and advocacy, information provision and warm referral; and mobile outreach services to maximise young people’s access to support.
This position will also support the development and facilitation of sexual assault support groups, community education, and early intervention and prevention activities to address issues relating to sexual violence.

Applicants must have:
- Bachelor degree qualification in Social Work, Social Science, Psychology, Behavioural Science, or relevant work experience
- Minimum of two years’ experience of working with young people who have experienced violence.
- A clearly defined practice framework that incorporates intersectional feminist and social justice perspectives.
- Current ‘C’ class driver’s license.
- Possession of a current Working with Children Blue Card.
