SUMMARY:International Women's Day & Voices for Change Project : Richlands
DESCRIPTION:Come join us to celebrate International Women’s Day & Voices for Change Project\nZig Zag is very excited to announce it will be running another V.O.I.C.E.S. for Change project in 2020. \nThe V.O.I.C.E.S (Videos Of Ideas\, Collective Experiences and Stories) for Change Project 3 will engage young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women to develop age appropriate and culturally relevant digital and print resources for the prevention of violence. \nClick link for past V.O.I.C.E.S Projects https://zigzag.org.au/2019/08/23/voices-for-change/ \nZig Zag believes that young women are best placed to share their stories and experiences for the promotion of key messages to the community on violence prevention\, to encourage their peers to seek support and assistance\, and to contribute to attitudinal change necessary to address the disproportionally high incidence of sexual violence experienced by young women. \nThe project will commence in June 2020 with a series of workshops where young women can share ideas about the content of the digital stories to be created in the two-day workshop occurring in August 2020. \nWorkers are committed to ensuring the safety and cultural appropriateness of the workshops and any material produced from these. Therefore\, our connections with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander colleagues and Elders are vital in order to enable avenues for an exchange of ideas and feedback regarding safety and cultural appropriateness of the Project\, in addition to opportunities for referral of any young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women (12 to 25 years) who might be interested in participating. \nWe wish to invite you to our International Women’s Day morning at Richlands Community Centre\, which we hope will enable us to connect with each other\, and share any thoughts or feedback about our proposed project\, in addition to sharing some yummy food and celebrating the diversity and strength of our young women. \nMorning tea will be provided.\nCost: Free\nRSVP: 3 March 2020 either by email: inala[at]zigzag.org.au or phone: 3843 1823 \nClick Here To Download Flyer \nIF YOU NEED ASSISTANCE WITH TRANSPORT\, LET’S TALK. HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU SOON!
