Position Details
Zig Zag are seeking a skilled worker with experience in the provision of housing support services to young women and gender diverse young people aged 16-25 years who are experiencing homelessness and/or at risk of homelessness, including accessible, flexible and responsive mobile support services to assist young people in their own home, in temporary living situations (e.g. couch surfing), in other supported accommodation, in a community setting, or public space (e.g. sleeping rough), to support young people to gain and / or sustain a tenancy. The Intensive Housing Support Worker will work collaboratively and supportively within the Zig Zag Housing Program team to provide high-quality housing support services including mobile outreach to young women and gender diverse young people including young pregnant and/or parenting young people.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and women from diverse cultural backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply. It is a requirement under Zig Zag’s organisational policy to be COVID19 vaccinated (minimum 2 doses) however exemptions to this policy may apply.
Applicants must have:
- Bachelor degree qualification in Social Work, Social Science, Psychology, Behavioural Science, or other relevant discipline.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the provision of planned support (case management) in homelessness, youth, or women’s service sectors.
- Current ‘C’ class driver’s license.
- Possession of a current Working with Children Blue Card.
- A clearly defined practice framework that incorporates intersectional feminist and social justice perspectives.
